UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and NHS England have announced changes to their infection control guidance, including the COVID-19 protective measures for healthcare settings.
The following changes came into effect on Tuesday 7 June 2022.
Guidance for staff / Patients – with immediate affect
- It will now only be mandatory to wear a mask for patients with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 infection (or other similarly transmitted infections) ie: if you have a respiratory infection, you may be requested to wear a face covering.
- You can still wear a face covering if you wish as personal choice.
Face masks will remain at reception for visitors who wish to use them.
